Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is the 2nd largest of the Canary Islands, located just 90kms from the north coast of Africa.

The temperatures in Fuerteventura during the winter season range between a pleasant 20-25 degrees and reach over 30 degrees during the summer, with very little rainfall. The island has over 150 beaches, some of which are the best in Europe, making it an ideal location for sun worshippers who do not want to take a long-haul flight.

The island is a mecca for water sports fanatics and surfing is big business in Fuerteventura, so much so, that the island plays host to the PWA world wind surfing and kite surfing championships every July. Scuba diving, snorkelling and deep sea fishing are also very popular.

If you fancy a day away from away from the coastline, Fuerteventura’s interior is certainly worth exploring. The sparse volcanic landscape, dry, barren desert and pretty Canarian villages that have been missed during the influx of toursim to the island will make you think that you have stepped back in time.
